My Story

Hello there! My name is Candice Griego. I am a Disney loving, Starbucks drinking, running, dancing, boy mom who loves teaching very much! I am very excited to be your teacher this year!

I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was eight years old. I was born in Florida, but moved around the country quite a bit as a child. I knew I wanted to come back to the Sunshine State as soon as I could! I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2015 with my bachelor's in elementary education. I married my high school sweetheart, Justin, and we moved here in 2015, where I began my teaching career. I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in Manatee County. I earned my Master's in Education in 2021. I've been an elementary teacher for 9 total years and a Zumba instructor for 13 years. :)

My husband and I have two sons, Liam and Noah. Liam will be a second grader and Noah will be in VPK. We also have a little dog named Luna and a bigger dog named Copper.  My family is everything to me!

This will be my third year teaching 2nd grade at Harvey. I can't wait to meet my new second grade sharks!
