My Story

Hello there! My name is Candice Griego. I am a Disney loving, Starbucks drinking, boy mom who loves teaching very much! I am very excited to be your teacher this year!

I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was eight years old. I was born in Florida, but moved around the country quite a bit as a child. I knew I wanted to come back to the Sunshine State as soon as I could! I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2015 with my bachelor's in elementary education. I married my high school sweetheart, Justin, and we moved here in 2015, where I began my teaching career. I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in Manatee County. I earned my Master's in Education in 2021. I've been an elementary teacher for 7 total years and a Zumba instructor for 12 years. :)

My husband and I have two sons, Liam and Noah. Liam will be a second grader and Noah will be in VPK. We also have a little dog named Luna. And this summer, we welcomed our puppy, Copper, into our family! My family is everything to me!

This will be my second year teaching 2nd grade at Harvey. I can't wait to meet my new second grade sharks!
